Size of volume (10gig) to burn? to 25gig disk? What? It could be normal depending on how you did the file prep prior to authoring app.

Many people here say 6.0 is buggy.

Your "burn time" depends entirely on whether your source is compliant, separate video and audio files. If you give Architect compliant files from Vegas, it should not take hours to burn.

Totally agree with musicvid10. If Vegas has done the prep work already, and the files that Architect has to work with are compatible audio and video files, it's just a matter of preparing (? 20 mins) and burning (well less than an hour). If the files are not compatible, Architect has to do all the transcoding - waaaay long time.
Don't forget to check the default or selected bitrate in Architect - if that is different to the files you imported Architect will merrily re-encode and take forever.

Thanks for the responses. I am using Architect as a standalone application and the files are not coming from Vegas, so I'm assuming thats why the burn times are long. (25 gig discs by the way are being used). I guess I could understand the preparation time being long to make the files compliant but the actual "burning to disc" portion took about 6 hours (out of a total of 9).. After the project was over and it asked me burn another disc , the second disc too wayyyy shorter--so this leads me to believe that when it says "burning to disc" (at least for the initial disc) there is still processing and rendering being done since the subsequent discs are burned much quicker.---

If you want a standalone burning application, ImgBurn is worth a look.

I've noticed that most of SCS' disc burning applications seem to do an awful lot of "thinking" while burning, often long enough to the point where the drive even spins down and stops for a while, then starts up again for more burning. This is one of the reasons i usually burn in Nero.
