If you're only seeing the ISO Image Writer under the device window, then DVDA isn't seeing your burner. There could be a multitude of reasons for this. Short version workaround. Get yourself Nero 6. Author your DVD in DVDA and "Prepare" it. Burn the resulting video ts and audio ts files with Nero. Nero "sees" most burners.

Meanwhile, direct your inquiry to Sony Support via "My Support - Submit a Question." They may be able to provide a corrected file depending on your system configuration.

Been there - did that - Sony fixed. Darryl

Sony usually takes 1-2 weeks to reply. Don't send it again as it won't speed up the process.
Since it does not recognize your burner, use a burning program, like Nero mentioned earlier, or Roxio, or some other burning software that will allow you to burn DVD's. Open the program, find your prepared folder (where you rendered your completed DVD) it should have a Video_TS folder and an Audio _TS folder in it. Copy the Video_TS folder to be burned. This is simple in Nero as you select Video DVD format and simply copy the contents fo the Video_TS folder to the Nero Video_TS folder that Nero provides and burn.
Hope this helps.

In DVDA*, click "Make a DVD." In DVDA3 you will have 3 options, you seem to be clicking on "Burn," and are only seeing the ISO image writer option, that's because DVDA isn't seeing your burner (nor is Vegas likely to either).

Click on the first option, "Prepare." This will take your entire project and prepare the Video_TS and Audio_TS files that would ordinarily be burned to the DVD media. All you're going to do for now is identify a folder and prepare those files to that folder in DVDA.

Now, you take a program such as Nero 6 - a very complete CD and DVD preperation and burning program in it's own right. Open one of it's burning routines, and import your "prepared" files from the folder that DVDA prepared the project to. I've used Nero Recode as a very straightforward process, you just "add" the Video_TS and Recode brings the audio along.

Click Burn. You're done, you can even identify how many copies you wish to produce in that run.

This workaround will get through. Sony will come through, it's just a tad frustrating with the turnaround sometimes.

You want any more detail, shoot me an e-mail and I'll give you a phone call.
