You can burn any file types to a DVD, but it will end up being a data disk (basically a backup of your hard drive files). It won't be a video disc that you can play in a DVD player. If you want to be able to play the disc in a DVD player then the files will have to be rendered to MPEG-2 and written to the disc with a DVD authoring program.
