Burning Blu ray from timeline

Hello there, this is my first forum entry.
I burned a couple of projects from the timeline to a standard DVD in hi def very succesfully. However I tried to do the same thing with a longer project - almost 1 hour to a dual layer DVD - my drive supports it and the entire project was about 6 gigs or so. After all the extremely long rendering time it appeared to have been completed ok but I found that my Sony BD350 blu ray player would not play it...any advice please would be most welcome

I do not think you can get an hour on a DVD, even a DL one. Appears that 20 minutes is the limit on a SLthat would make 40 minute limit on DL. Although perhaps playing with bitrate makes a difference. I have never done longer than 10 minutes. have never had success burning anything on a DL. SD or HD.

Thanks for the reply Terry, the the thing that confuses me is that I can easily get around 25 minutes of Hi Def material on a normal DVD and the dual layer file size was way below the maximum which is I believe about 8.5 gigs. Everything burned ok and it looked ok when I "explored" it. The Sony Blu Ray player wouldnt load it though... ah well...
Cheers
