I have burned DVDs authored with DVDA3 with Nero 6 Ultra and CopytoDVD with no warnings or error messages. Sony must have made a change in the later versions.

I absolutely love the sony products until I get to burning them. This might sound strange but I use NERO every day and never have problems with it no matter what I burn with the exception of material coming out of DVDA2. If I burn the project in DVDA2 it burns fine and plays fine, but if I want to make multiple copies for family (home videos) in NERO on the disc to disc copy it fails everytime. I am wondering now if the file reallocation problem is also causing it to crash the disc to disc also. If I burn the project in NERO and ignore the warnings it plays fine and then I can do disc to disc copies. Is this a Sony problem or a NERO problem. I see finger pointing coming up. :)

PS is the DVDA3 the newest version to just come out?

Yes, it's definately a SONY problem, and yes, it's fixed in newer versions of DVD Architect. I think it's even fixed in the newest update of version 2, so you may want to download that and see if it helps.

The problem is that the VOB files are slightly larger than the size allowed by the UDF file format that DVDs use. Windows refuses to read the file, so most copy programs won't work. You can't even copy the files to your hard drive. I've never seen a DVD player have trouble playing them, but it is uncomfortable knowing that i have several older projects on DVD that i can't make additional copies of.

And yes, the newest version of DVDA is 3. You are entitled to free updates of version 2, and i do seem to recall that this problem was fixed in 2.0b, so you should try that first.
