Burning DVD w/ just Vegas 4

I don't have DVD Architect. I do have the latest version of Nero. I suppose I could render my project as an AVI and have Nero do the encoding/burning but I'm not sure this will produce good results.

It appears in Vegas 4 I can render to mpeg (DVD) but I can't find whether or not Nero can take that file and just burn. I think so but I can't seem to find the answer. Anyone else here using Vegas 4 and burning DVDs somehow??

You need DVD authoring program. Suggest upgrading to Vegas+DVD or getting DVD Lab, DVD Workshop etc.

Thanks for that but I really just wanted to burn the file without any authoring (if that's possible). Just put the disc in and have it play. But I did notice that I can make a menu with Nero and just click on the "play movie" icon. That's good enough for me. Do I absolutely need an authoring program just to burn the file? If it's possible to just burn the file, should I render it to mpeg in V4 or AVI first? Thanks for your suggestion.
