Hi,
I'm in middle of transferring old VHS-tapes to DV-tape and DVD, which means that I need to burn a lot of DVD:s.
I've always had some problems with DVDA (versions 2..4) and my computer (two PC's) but somehow managed to live with it. Now when having this "burning factory" going on, DVDA has started to produce an alarming number of failed disks.
The errors I get are either "Illegal request was received" or "A write error occurred". First I signed this off as a problem with hw and possibly with the DVD media but after producing four failed burns in a row (I rebooted PC every time), I tried Nero. And the result is four burns; zero defects. And the material was prepared by DVDA.
Is there something strange happening in DVDA? If Nero can manage this, my HW/SW -setup should be in perfect condition.
Anyone with similar experience?
My setup is AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+; 2GB RAM; two DVD-burners (LG and Samsung), etc. Newest firmware in the burners (not that they anymore publish those very much; burners costing under $50).
