Burning SD projects from AVCHD

Does anybody know how one can effectively burn a DVD project (with Vegas) in SD format using clips originally captured from HD media like Sony's AVCHD? The reason for this is to share DVDs with family and friends who do not have the possibility of watching them in HD format like Blu Ray.

Just render to NTSC DVD - 720x480 29fps ...

Don't forget to use the Widescreen version of that template or you will crop the video.

OK, so I did it as recommended (widescreen, 720x480, 29 fps) and I did get an accurate DVD (using Architect Pro 5.0), but.... it comes with black stripes both horizontally and vertically... Is that the way it's supposed to be?

Did you set your DVDA project properties for widescreen?

I did a quick DVD yesterday from AVCHD in widescreen DVDA template as well, but I only got small black stripes in the sides.

Maybe we should 'tick' the 'stretch do not letterbox' box at export or something like that?
