Burning to a Blu Ray disc

If I film in HD 1080, edit in Vegas MS HD 10, render it to DVD Architect 5 will I be able to burn it to a Blu Ray disc using my existing DVD drive or will I need a special Blu Ray drive.
Advice please.

You will need a BluRay burner to burn a BluRay disc, alpha.

You can also burn BluRay files to a DVD. But this type of video only plays on BluRay players -- and not even on all of them.

Also consider that the audio on your BRD will not be 5.1 unless you upgrade to DVDAS Pro
