Burning to fit DVD size

Prior to buying Vegas HD. I was using Eduis pro3. With Eduis, i was able to get 2hrs of SD video to a 4.7 DVD. Now that I am using Vegas, My 2hr projects are about 9gig. Why are they so large? How do I fit these to a DVD?

You need to set the video bitrate in Vegas before rendering so that it will fit on your DVD. You can use school maths or a calculator to work out the bit rate. If you choose variable bit rate you may get slightly better quality where it matters, compared to fixed bit rate. The average for the variable rate should be the same as the fixed rate.

I normally set the safety margin to 2% rather than the default 1%.
