Burning Video to DVD+RW

Wintom wrote on 3/9/2003, 9:20 AM
I work with Vegas 4 and have a DVD+RW-D01 device from Philips.
I would like to burn a project in MPEG-2 on a DVD that can be played on ordinary DVD-players.
With Vegas 4 I don't find a way to do that.
First th tool "Burn Video CD" only gives me the choice of MPEG-1.
Even with MPEG-1 Vegas shows the message "The operation is not supported by this device."
What possibilities are there to achieve, what I consider a basic operation. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Wintom

You'll need DVD authoring/burning software for this. Sonic Foundry just introduced DVD Architect 1.0 at the same time that Vegas 4 was released. DVDA will do what you want.

Laying out the DVD and converting the MPEG 2 files to VOBs etc is the job of another application, not VEGAS Video. All of the Phillips units shipped with MyDVD from Sonic Solutions to do that task. Take a look at that. If not, then there are many other DVD authoring applications. On this board I will limit the reccommendations to looking at VEGAS +DVD wich inludes DVD arch which will do that job for you.
