I am trying to burn a dvd and for some reason all it burns is the tow folders. One with audio and one with video but no way to play the dvd.
I have 2 other short films that i have burned and have no problem but I seem to be doing something wrong here. I started with avi format rendered it to mpeg2 . i then try to burn it in architect and like i said it seems to burn ok but i cant play it. Just 2 folders for sound and video. Am I missing a step somewhere?

Does PowerDVD or WinDVD play the DVD Folders?

Are you performing the actual BURN to disc step?

The two folders, VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS, are exactly what you are supposed to have. Inside the VIDEO_TS folder you'll see some .VOB and .IFO files. The AUDIO_TS folder will be empty.

Please explain in more detail what you mean by "i can't play it". What happens when you try? Do you get an error message? Do you get a blank screen? What device or software are you using to try to play it?

George no i cant play it with powerdvd. Says theres a format error and yes i burned it cause the folders are on the DVD.

Chienworks i know the 2 folders should be there but I should be able to put the DVD in and be able to play it with out opening the folders and clicking on them right? Shouldnt there be more files in there as well? When I put the disk in nothing happens at all and then when i use real player to open the drive i see the 2 folders and that's it.
Ive used real player, windows media, nero and power dvd to play it and none of them recognize it.

If you open the VIDEO_TS folder in Windows explorer, do you see files inside it or is it empty?

In either case it sounds like you suffered a bad burn. Toss the disc and try again.
