Busting VOB AC-3

With V6 and Power DVD installed I changed the VOB file on one of the DVD's that I created to MPG and put it on the timeline and both the video and the audio worked fine. I tried it from a commercial DVD but it would not copy a VOB file to my hard drive. I then tried Record Now DX and it copied and burned the VOB file to another disc. I then copied the file to my hard drive. Then put it on the V6 timeline after changing to MPG but V6 said no way so I figure something was imbedded in the file.

Ah most commercial DVDs are encrypted. Also the mpeg file quite likely contains more than one audio stream plus even more stuff, once you've copied the VOB file you've lost the CSS key so I think nothing can access the scrambled data, try playing it with Power DVD to confirm that.
