button doesn't highlight

Can anyone help? I've already searched online and the FAQ area without success. Am using DVDA Studio v5 build 128.

My menu has just two main buttons, the PLAY ALL for the movie and the SCENE SELECTION. However, the latter doesn't highlight in either preview mode or when burned, though I can click on it with a mouse to trigger its menu pages of scenes. drawn from markers placed in the main PLAY ALL movie.
How can I make the button work correctly - ie that it can be highlihgted and selected using the DVD box remote?

Many thanks.

It's always easier when you confine a post to one question, J. It's very hard to chase two topics in the same thread.

As for your button highlight, it could be related to the Color Set you're using. What color are you using for your Mask/Overlay? Try a different color and see if that makes it more visible.

You can, of course, make a Prepared file to test this on your computer rather than burning a DVD. That way you don't waste a disc.

Many thanks for your reply, Steve. I had thought a double question was a more efficient way of getting answers but will repost the Replace funciton question on your suggestion.

On the non-highlighting button, the colours are the default set that work fine on the main Play All button (a yellow rectangle over the thumb and title box). I've changed nothing, hence the question. For some reason, the Remote navigation will not work for this second button, either using the Preview function remote or the keyboard cursor keys. The only way it can be triggered is with the mouse on the PC.

I burn to DVD RW so no problem on the disks. I'd read in other posts that, even though the preview didn't work, the final disk might. In this case, sadly not.

Are you certain that the scene select button doesn't highlight when you click with the mouse? Try holding the mouse key for a second or two to be certain.

It sounds as though you may have a navigation problem on the main menu. Try clicking the navigation tool on the tool bar to the right of the workspace. There should be arrows pointing between the two buttons. If not you can create them by dragging from the arrow heads to the other button.

Mike you've sorted it!!

I became so frustrated with making no progress in July, I didn't check your latest answer until just now.

When I toggled the navigation tool, there was, indeed, no extended arrow pointing to the scene selection menu!! Once the arrow head was pulled out and curved into the scenes menu, I could use the remote in the preview to highlight and select it at last!!

I've yet to burn the DVD but will be keen to see if it works.

Strange, though, I've used the same process to create a scenes menu several times, and this is the first time this problem - a manual navigation needing to be added - has been necessary.
