button highlight

bradf55 wrote on 5/16/2012, 8:37 PM
Hey again,

Is there a way to adjust/move the highlight option underline? It sits too close to the button I would like to move it south a pixel or two but not sure how to accomplish it or if it can even be done.

I did see the option for custom highlight but can't for the life of me figure out how to move the underline.

Thanks

Brad

Well, as I show you in my book, if you select the Custom highlight option and use Mask Mapping, you create your highlight in any shape you'd like. Would that help?

Hi Brad.
To move the underline highlight away from the text make sure the sizing tool is selected so that the button has a box around it with handles. Pull the bottom centre handle down and the underline will be pulled away from the text.

Hey Steve

You mention you have a book, do you sell it here on sony's site or where can I get a copy? Does it cover every aspect of DVDA? I'm still working on getting a copy of vegas 10 but still 150 bucks short probably next year before I can get it. So would the book cover 5.2 pro also? Would probably buy it if not to expensive and covers all above.

About the custom highlight though, right now I just want to get that darn underline moved down a little. I'm not really looking to create my own custom highlighting, but it would be an option I might want to check into a little latter though, so the book might just be a good buy, The I wouldn't need to bug anyone here on the forum!! :)

Thanks

Brad

Thanks Jack I'll check it out a little later tonight and see how that works, I do make those sizing boxes a bit tight.

Thanks

Brad, when and if you get DVDA Pro, you might consider constructing your menus in Photoshop (or freeware that saves in PS format), and then importing into DVDA. This uncorks a world of flexibility and creativity not available within DVDA (I don't think the Studio version can do this). The DVDA manual explains rather lamely how to do this. Better tuts are at SCS and one here by Steve Mann. In your case, this would be like swinging a bat at a mosquito, i.e., to move a line, but it works great for more sophisticated menus and elements.
