Button text highlight (text mask overlay) off

I've got text buttons and am trying to get the highlight working properly. The test is black and I want it to change to bright yellow as you move over to it. I've got the yellow highlight working but the yellow doesn't entirely cover the black text. It is very close but there are black pixels around the edges in odd spots. Makes for a very ugly highlight. Anyone know what I'm doing incorrectly?

As I show you in my book, the Color Set that the program uses to generate your overlay is a combination of not just the Fill Color, but also the Anti-Alias, Background/Outline and (to a lesser extent) the Transparent Color.

Play with the color and opacity of the Antialias anc Outline/Background Colors until you you get the overlay you want.
