Button title change - can I avoid re-rendering all

Seems like when make any change to dvd layout such as replacing 1 chapter clip in a DVD, DVDA re-renders everything - not just the changed chapter, I don't know the program that well, but know that other authoring programs I have used kept the temp files and only re-rendered what was needed. So I think I am just missing some setting that would speed up the remaking of the dvd from an already rendered project.

Right now I need to make a title change in a button - is there a way to avoid a full re-render ?

Have you selected the option to Smart Prepare (under Make DVD/Prepare)?

If so, the program should, as much as possible, re-use previously rendered files.

Thanks Steve - it was checked - so I went ahead and made a new DVD and went pretty quick.

The other times I made changes, they were more extensive than just a button title change, and the render time was as long as the original render time.

Perhaps the issue with the long re-render time before was that I initially I had used one clip for several of the chapters. Then when I corrected some video issues by saving just the replacement chapter video as a new file and replacing the menu button reference media with the new shorter file, it seems like the whole dvd had to re-render.

So the lesson here for me is to not use a big file and set in/outs for chapters, but to use seperate files for each chapter - if that makes any sense.

Anyway - thanks
