Using DVDAS 4.5. I am using footage for my background on the main menu. Is it possible to have the menu buttons appear at a later time in the comp? My comp has action and special effects, and I want the menu buttons to appear after about 10 secs. Thanks. Cin
Thank you Jet, I looked under about every topic but that one. Gotta say, didn't see that one ;) I've spent several hours working on it, and got it to sort of work, but couldn't really reproduce it with any confidence :(
Thank you also Steve. Between Jets link and your advice I feel like I'm close, but missing something. I put a Loop Point at 10 sec and set the End Action Command to Hold hoping that at the end of my trailer it would hold on the last frame with the buttons displayed, but it loops back to the Loop Point and stays there. That is the point that I want the buttons to first appear, but not end. To further clarify (I hope), I have a 20 sec trailer that I want to use as the intro and background. At 10 sec I have a flash and I freeze frame with text that appears (Feature, Bloopers, Bonus, etc.). I want to make Hot Spots out of the text (buttons), but I'm also having trouble figuring out how not to have clips of the other clips appear on my menu comp, but only Hot Spots. Hope it makes some sort of sense to someone else, as it doesn't to me :O Thanks again. Cin
If I'm reading correctly, and you have the final 10 seconds of your clip freeze-framed, then set the End Action to Loop, not Hold. This should give you what you want. One caveat is that if you have a fade-to-black at the end of the clip, you'll see that repeat over-and-over at 10 second intervals. Otherwise, there should just be a slight pause as the players seeks back to the loop point.
You also appear to prefer text highlights to indicate menu button selections. One easy way to do this is from the Preview Window. Hold down the control key and left-click to select each of the menu buttons. Then let go of the control key and right-click anywhere in the preview window, and select Button Style from the context menu. Select Text Only from the popup.
Thank you, thank you. I can't believe how nice it turned out :) And yes cbrillow, you read perfectly :) Thank you all for sharing your time and knowledge. Cin
