You create high lights that are very basically 4 color masks -- think of it as an overlay covering the entire menu page. There are also 3 separate stages or possibilities: unselected, selected, & activated, each using a separate color set.

If you read &/or search through the threads here, you'll get info & examples on hiding all or portions of a button, or switching menu pages when a button is selected. Those are about the only choices you have with DVDs.

To change the image in the menu button. Click on the button you want to change, under "button properties" click on "start time", then click the down arrow and a slide bar button appears. Use your mouse to slide the bar. This will slowly advance through the video this button links to. When the image you want appears in the button stop sliding the bar and the image will stay there.

What I think he wants to do is to have a "swapping" image - one for non-selected and one for selected. The somewhat basic and more-or-less useless highlight function does not support this and this I think is what his questions is about, swapping the image button.
