C: access during record ?

I am still getting clicks on 'record', a little anamaly about every 5 sec. What concerns me is that my C: drive is being accessed the whole time record is going - not heavily, but a continuous flicker on the drive light.

Audio drive is D:, and is on it's own separate IDE controller.

I have a fixed swapfile of 200MB. Vegas reports 17/512MB ram usage.

Is this c: drive access normal ?

What do you have the "Recorded Files Folder" value in the Vegas project's properties set to? This dialog can be accessed by opening Vegas, going to File>Properties, then to the Audio tab.

This needs to be set to your D: drive as well.

This is set to D: (audio drive).

I have 'retuned' my Windows and am no longer getting record glitches. However the slight C: access still occurs during record.....

What about your virtual memory for Windows?
It could be accessing your C: Drive if virtual memory is set to your C: drive.

Check this by right clicking on "my computer" and select "properties-performance' and then click on the "virtual memory" button. Here you can designate what drive you want virtual memory to access. The usual default is the C: drive.

Yes, this is an obvious cause, but why ? The ram meter shows 17/512MB and there is nothing else running other than TaskInfo2000 (my resource meter of choice) the C: access happens with or without TaskInfo going.

I have a fixed-size swapfile of 200MB.
