C-Log Footage Grading In VP-17

Blaque wrote on 10/4/2019, 2:10 PM

if applicable would anyone mind sharing their process on how to quickly get c-log footage (canon xc-15 c-log footage in my particular case) looking normally within VP?

I’ve downloaded the 10bit luts from the canon website already and have tested some, but would like to hear what processes others are using if they don’t mind sharing.

Nothing really found on YouTube specifically in regards to applying luts, coloring, and grading c-log footage within VP-17 as of yet.

Thanks in advance for any helpful tips on the topic.

Kind Regards,

Blaque

Just apply the LUT in the first LUT tab in the color grading window, and then edit the color from there. Alternatively use the LUT loader Fx and then white balance and curves or levels Fx.

C-LOG shouldn't be different from the other log formats out there in terms of how to use them, so if you find a Panasonic or Sony tutorial you can learn from that, too. One thing I'm not sure about is if Vegas can edit 10-bit files without issue. I thought there were problems with GH5 files in the past.
