Of course it's 50,000 posts.

Isn't it 50,000 threads?

My bad, the posts here must be in the many hundreds of thousands.

how do we know who posted the 50,000th thread post?

Go back up one level, to the Vegas Video Forum. At the upper left, above the first thread, it currently says "Showing 1-50 of 50004" (or at least it does on mine, which is set to view 50 threads per page)

Edit: Ooops!

That doesn't work for figuring post #50,000, because every time a post is added to a thread, it moves to the top.

There are MessageIDs, these seem to correspond to thread IDs, but they probably include all forums here.

Still, it looked to me like Grazie got the honor. But then he said he was "SAD," so I don't know what he saw.

Grazie, you won the award!

Too bad it's not only virtual, but also invisible.

My finger poised on the mouse, a bead of sweat running down my brow, i could feel my heart pounding in my chest, the clock seemed to stop, as i waited for the 49999 thread to be posted.

I could feel my throat getting dry, I could not even blink, my eyes felt like sandpaper, I had not eaten for what seemed like days.

I felt a small cramp in my hand as it set tightly on the mouse, waiting, wanting, needing to press the left button to get the glory and satisfaction of being the one, the one to post that glorious number 50,000.

The pressure was so intense that I felt like the whole world was spinning out of control, I could see black aound my head like a fighter pilot feels with extreme G's, yet I could picture myself pushing though with steely confidence knowing that it would be my moment in the sun, my time to shine, my time to be the ONE.

But alas I had one major road block I was at my Inlaws house and they have DIAL UP Internet and that would be my undoing for I had to refresh the screen at post 49998 and when it finished to my horror I say 50001 and that the 50000 was posted by none other the formatable foe Grazie.

Blast I have lost the honor gone, I had to ride into the sunset head hung low, pride shattered, feeling that i could never edit again.

But I will continue to wait, ponder, post, and desire for #60000.

The END

Congrats Grazie you have the faster connection and finger..

Happy New Year everyone, if you like the story send money :-)

I got the head programmer at work mad at me once. We post all software updates in a versioning database and each update gets the next number. Since i'm technically not a programmer i don't post a lot of updates, but i do have a few projects assigned to me and i work on them occasionally. Well, one week i jjust happened to get update numbers 2400, 2500, 2600, 2700, and 2800. He got annoyed because he posts 50 times as many updates as i do and yet i got all the even 100's numbers.
