Camcordermics

I have just bought a new camcorder - a Panasonic GS 400.
I´m very satisfied with the picture but would like better sound.
Its good enough for speach but when it comes to music there´s
not enough base frequences (there is nothing below 150Hz ).
This camcorder has manual recording and base gain possibilities but it doesn´t help much - the mics frequensarea is to narrow.
Anyone who know a good camcordermic (50 - 18 000 Hz) that suite my needs and that can be attached to the shoe.
I know that the best result is to do a separate recording with several
mics but I am searching for a desent sound when shooting amateurconserts and likely events with just my camcorder.
I´ve searched this splendid forum but haven´t found any threads on this subject yet (perhaps cause there are no such mics) .

The best way is to have the sound guy record the sound directly off the board, and then mix it with what your camera records. That way you get the good sound from the band, and the crowd as well.

Spot is one of the audio gods that hang around this forum. Use the search to search all forums and put "mic microphone" in the search area, tell the search to "Match any of the search terms above," restrict the search to Subject Only, an dthen put "Spot" in the username area. You should get 34 hits, including:

Recommendations on microphone

or

On / In camera mics.

Even if Spot's answer doesn't provide all the information, you will doubtless find the remaining part of the answer from other users in the thread.
