Camera controll not possible!

3 other applications are recognizing and controlling my Panasonic DV Camera ok.
VV3 is seeing Video Device as beeing connected, however, when try to go to capture,
it is saing:
The device can not be opened make sure it is not used by other application.

The only way to print to video is if I start my camera manually.

I changed VV3 capture to Scenalyzer which works perfect. My Cinestream and Premiere 6 capture works perfect as well. I think there is a problem with VV3 capture/device controll segment.

Othervise, VV3 is very poverfool software. Hope, all the week side will be fix soon.

check the enable dv device box under options/preferences
that should take care of your problem

Sonicboom,

I've had similar symptoms, also with a Panasonic camera - which tab in Options/Preferences is Enable DV device under? - I can't find it.

If you are printing to tape from the timeline in Vegas 3, you will be asked each time whether you want to control the device automatically or manually. I don't think there is a preference setting for this.

If you are using the VidCap utility to print to tape, then Enable DV device control is the first setting under Options, Preferences, General.

Hi, thanks for the tip.
I do have it checked but it doesn't work. Strange thing is that when I tried to capture for the first time, I had the camera controll and it worked fine. But that was the only time. VV3 clever design allows to use other applications for capturing (and Scelalyzer is perfect tool for this) so this is not a fatal flow.
However, printing to tape makes me more worry, I would like to have it done automatically.
