Well ... they guy's heart is in the right place, but what the heck does it mean? There are SO many variables in the settings on each camera, that if you don't spend 20-30 minutes going over exactly how each camera is set, you might end up with the wrong thing. I'm certainly learning this the hard way with my FX1. The auto-gain control can, I think, be forced to stay at 0dB, even in auto mode. This would make a HUGE difference in this particular test. Also, there are all sorts of features in the PPV menus, and if any of those get activated, the results would be invalid.
In addition, at least on the page you linked, I couldn't find anything about what they were actually trying to test. Low light? Reaction to light changes? Color (there is a color matrix on the box next to the talent)?
I don't mean to be overly critical because, as anyone know that has tried to set up an execute such a test, they are VERY tricky.
All that said, I was pleased that the FX1 seemed to do well in the low-light portion of the test.
