camera resolution

I'm totally new to this...

I'm using a Canon G11 which allows me to take video in two resolutions, so I used the larger one 640, rather than the 320. Now I learn than I am going to be required to submit my classroom videos at the lower resolution instead.

Is there any way I can resize the larger ones I have already made? I would know how to do this in PhotoShop with stills, but I haven't a clue with the video. I'm using the Vegas Movie Platinum 10

Thanks!

Well, you can certainly output your video at just about any resolution you'd like, Lily. What resolution would your teacher like to see?

Is your video shot in 640x480? That's good. You can probably work with video that size and then make it smaller in Vegas Movie Studio. It's much harder to take smaller video (say 320x240) and make it bigger, of course.

When you render the output file click on the [Custom] button. In the screen that comes up you can choose many different resolutions, and if the one you want isn't there you can type in (mostly) whatever numbers you like. Some formats restrict you to multiples of 8 or 16, but since 320x240 are multiples of 16 it works fine.
