Camera Shake Effect ?

I'm brand new to Vegas and for my first "tutorial" project, I'm trying to create a video "logo" to slap at the start of my projects. By projects of course, I mean home videos, since I'm a total hobbiest just entertaining myself by trying to create "professional" looking productions to share with family and friends.

In any event, I've create a sketch logo that I want to slap on a motion background. I'd like the logo to "shake" very quickly, to give the clip some motion. Any tricks to doing that ?

I've found a perfect tool (NewBlue's Motion Effects plugin - http://newbluefx.com/motion_effects.html), but alas, I can't possibly spend another dime on this little hobby of mine right now. $69 seems reasonable for these great tools, but just can't rationalize it just to create a "cool" logo clip.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get it done ?

Thanks DJPadre - I'll look for it. In the meantime, I fiddled around long enough to come up with a rather nice alternative using mask layers + the Sony "Old Film" Effect. I love learning new software - it's like discovering the new world every time you find your own answer :)

As you peruse the forum you will find mention of lots of Vegas resources. There's none better than vasst.com (and this forum, of course). Spend some time on the site, there's lots of articles, tutorials, and free stuff to work with, not to mention top-notch training materials and utilities such as UltimateS 2.

I don't work for vasst, I'm just a very satisfied customer.

That's a clever solution.

DavidMcknight - thanks ... I've already spent a lot of time looking around on that site. The navigation is a little bit confusing for me (for instance, I couldn't for the life of me find the Vegas shake effect without searching - so I never would have found it without someone tipping me off). JohnnyRoy's site also has a few very informative tutorials.

Now if only I could get the Vegas Shake effect to install correctly on Vegas 6.0, I'd be all set.

Ah...it's the simple things...... :)

DJPadre, thanks so much for the heads up! For ever so long I have been creating that effect with Track Motion Keyframming and this script saves soooo much time, it's marvelous! Thanks a heap.

Elvindeath, for the script to work in V6, don't use the installer, instead, just drag(or copy) the unzipped script file (thats the yellow one that looks like a scroll) into your script directory under your Vegas install. Then, next time you start Vegas, it'll be ready and waitin for ya.

Cheers,
