The only program that I know of that converts powerpoint files directly to DV compatible format suitable for making a DV .avi file (movie) is called Visual Communicator Pro (Not the regular or Plus versions, only the Pro). See:

www.seriousmagic.com

If Vegas can do it, I haven't found it, yet.

wcoxe1,

Great website and product. The Powerpoint input looks great. Have you used this product and can the same thing be done with Vegas if you use a green screen?

VideoDentist:
Yes, you can do the green screen thing with Vegas. It's called Chroma Keyer and you can get familiar with it by clicking on the Track F/X square. It allows you to remove any color you want our of a scene and replace that "vacant area" with another video. Just put the replacement video in a track above the original track.
Have fun,
Steve

There's another alternative that's FREE! Microsift has a free downloadable product named PowerPoint Producer. It was released about a year ago.

This allows videos to be played with Power Point slides. Try http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2002/producer.aspx for more info.

Steve,

Thank you for the help. I have been trying to resolve this problem for weeks. I am downloading it now.

Sigh, too bad it is compatible only with PPT 2002. I have 2000 and cannot justify upgrading my Office Professional 2000 to OP 2002. Cantasia makes a good product for converting PPT shows to AVIs.
