I would experiment with the pan and crop tool first. Have the audio all set and where you want it to move use keyframes to move it around, and then back again. There is also the option of playing with TV video fx and trying out the line and vertical sync settings, but that may not be the best option or give you the look you're going for. But it's worth a try.

Try Trackmotion. You can see ALL the k/fs at once, on the t/l .. . and Move them to fix to the beat that I'll explain .. you don't see markers in P/C . ..

Ok, let's asume you are wanting to have an effect on the beat. Use Track motion for "one" beat. Happy with that? What you are gonna do now is copy and paste the K/Fs where the beat falls. You MArk where the beat falls by running the audio and sit there tapping the "M" key. Now you've got lodsa markers for you to Paste those Track Motion K/Fs you've previously worked on . .. . AND as you've been working in Track Motion you can Grab those that are outta wack and move them along .. AND you get to see the diamonds move along the T/L as you do it .. . hell this is real hard explaining in words over 8,000 miles .. . if youi saw how easy it is from sitting next to me here you would say,"Uhuh!"

okay i'm going to at least try and do both ways but i'm am very new. what i've been doing is winging it and have fairly done well. t/L and all the little abreviations lose me in the shuffle. i really don't even understand the concept when iread scripts. is that a word for fx. haha an abreviation i know. well off to try one of these answers. but i'm still lost.

Now you've got Markers with the Beat, you can now place K/F diamonds to cover/synched to the marker. You can do it from the T/L OR within the TM menu .. yeah? . .once you've set a few, you can then copy and paste the rest to cover the other Markers .. As you can't "see" the Markers from within the TM Menu, but you can see the Markers and K/Fs on the T/L you do have a lot of control.. .. MY wish is for the markers to appear in the Track Motion menu .. BETTER STILL K/Fs sprinkle on thru' the Marker postions - yeah?

Maybe Jonny Roy or some other script Genius can get this happen. .

Oh yea, I wish I could but as Jetdv said, there are no controls for Track Motion in the scripting API. I have a couple of scripts on the back burner just wanting for this feature. Sony are you listing? Maybe in 5.0c? ;-)

I would suggest getting the Quake plug-in and then place markers on the timeline where you want the shakes and use Quake to make ‘em. It’s quick and easy.

thanks everyone was a big help gracie,spot,johnny,even roger (quake inventor) help me out. i guess something was wrong with my vegas 4.0 it would no let me use quake but ahh! my friend has 5.0 loaded and downloaded quake and it worked like a charm. set the markers run script and shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake my booty. lol

The Script API namespace changed between Vegas 4 and Vegas 5 so there are two versions of Quake, one for both. Also, Vegas 4 did not ship with Microsoft .Net Framework like Vegas 5 did so you have to install this yourself to be able to run scripts in Vegas 4. Glad you got things shaking. ;-)

I got Vegas 5b. Was always curious how to do that effect and "WALAH"! You guys are geniuss...genious, er geniuous...You guys are SMART! I had to download the latest NET. Framework from windows but after that...we got hit by a 7.0...everythings shakin!

The sad thing is...the time it took me to read this forum, and cause a 7.0 in Los Angeles...FCP and AP Users locked up 12 times!

Why do they continue to use those programs. There is nothing you cant do in Vegas...NOTHING!

That quake is such a cool effect. I recently destroyed a country with a comet from space. That effect would have put a nice touch to it!
