Absolutely. I've burned all of my DVDs created with DVDA using Prassi PrimoDVD. When you choose create DVD, you are asked where you want the subdirectories saved. You get to pick the location (I don't know where the "default" is).

Hi JetDV

Can DVD-A create a single DVD image file (eg an *.img or *.image file) that can then be written by Prassi? I've been using Sonic DVDit! SE and want to know this before buying DVD-A. I archive my old DVDs by simply saving the image to tape or another archive drive. Thanks.

Beatnik,

Yes you can use any other burning software. Just perform the "Prepare" action in DVDA then point your favorit burning software like nero on the generated folder. Choose the DVD UDF/ISO burning template and drag and drop the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders from your prepared one. That's all. Note that the AUDIO_TS folder is always empty. It is just here for DVD player compatibility.

I am using this way to burn DVD+RW which are not yet supported in DVDA. The DVD+R can be burn from inside DVDA, it is easiest.

I don't know if it will create an actual image file. However, in DVDit PE, I always created the Audio_TS and Video_TS directories just like I do in DVDA.

Sure DVD+RW are supported - I've written about a dozen of them... I'm using a Sony DRU500a and have had great luck with Imation disks. They have been on sale at CompUSA on and off since Christmas. I agree with all your other comments... Good luck!
