Can I batch apply fades to multiple events?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a bunch of events of variable length on the timeline, cut on the timeline from a single long concert take and ripplied together. I want to add a 2 second fade from black and a 4 second fade to black to each of of them. (I didn't/don't want to crossfade them because I don't want any overlapping audio, and the fades must be from and to black.

Is there a way I can either (1) batch apply the fades or (2) apply the fades to the first clip and then copy the fades to the rest of the clips?

Thanks

Scripts can easily do that. With Excalibur and Ultimate S, it's a trivial task. There are also free fading scripts available, though. Here's one that will fade all selected events in and out 1 second. All you need to do is change the fade in to 2 seconds and the fade out to 4 seconds and it should do what you want.

Thank you! That level of script editing I should be able to handle :-)

EDIT. Actually, I can't really figure this out, the script doesn't seem to be formatted...

EDIT. I found the script on the jetdv.com website - so I'm good, I think. Thanks again!

Although I haven't used it, it looks like Video Track Automation can be used with Fade-to-Color Envelopes to (hopefully) speed the creation of fades for a large number events. Take a look at "Fade-to-Color Envelopes" in the help file. Let us know if this works.
