Can I buy the upgrade or do I need to buy a new license?

Back in the day I used to use Vegas 12. After a short break, I've decided I want to start using Vegas again and would like to upgrade considering my copy is so old.

I want to know if I can buy the "perpetual license - upgrade" to save a little money, or if I need to buy a new perpetual license because my old copy is too old. I have a physical disk of Vegas 12 if that determines anything.

I don't want to spend money on the "perpetual license - upgrade" if I won't be able to use it.

Thanks for the help

When first opening Vegas Pro 12 years ago, part of the process would have involved registering and activating Vegas Pro 12 on Sony's Vegas Pro servers. When ownership changed from Sony to MAGIX in 2016, that registration data should have transferred to MAGIX. To test your entitlement to upgrade pricing, go through the perpetual/upgrade purchase process and that process will let you know about your upgrade eligibility. This will happen well before having to make a payment so you can bail out before payment if you want to do so.

Thank you,

I was able to access the upgrade page successfully so I must be eligible.

Did you see where you would get the specific upgrade pricing.
