Can I click a button to launch an OS folder

I figured out the 'Extras' folder thing which is great. I can access it from my windows desktop via My Computer > Right Click DVD > Open

Now the client threw me for a loop and is insisting that they should be able to click a button to 'view additional content' (like PDFs) if they are watching the DVD on their computer, and have the folder of PDFs launch.

I'm confident this is NOT possible, but need someone to either confirm my suspicion or prove me wrong.

From what I know about DVD authoring, there is no way to do this from a DVD menu.

You need to tell the client that the best you can do is provide an instruction page on the DVD that tells how to open the PDFs and other extras on their computer.

I did a search and could not find any authoring program that does this, but you might want to search yourself. The Apple DVD program has something called DVD@ccess, but it links to a PDF on a server and does not seem to work well on PCs.

You could create a DVD Menu page that is actually the PDF file text and link to that. But it would not be a true PDF.
