Can I, default the by type expanding as a default

What a confusing subject.

What I would like to do is have the 'by type' folder automatically expand as a default? I know it's a simple mouse click, but my 'workflow' makes having to open it each and evry time is beyond annoying.

Would be willing to use a script that somebody who knows how to do that stuff has written. Doing that scripting stuff scares me.

Hmm, how would running a script (requiring at least one keystroke if not more) be better than just a "simple mouse click"?

So when I start the program and /or open a project, it's already expanded. I'm NOT writing the script, I'm not that talented, or brave.
