Sorry, Vegas is not a Flash content application.
There are various techniques for transparent backgrounds depending on the Flash application used.

ok...

BUT... I... (the graphic girl)... have the Adobe Creative Suite Deisgn Premium which HAS Flash Professional (never used it before - but can learn <grin>)...

Sooooo... would I use Vegas Pro to edit video first and then encode into Flash for delivery to the web site?

Does Vegas Pro make the background invisible or does Flash?

Thank You!

Some Vegas renderers support alpha channel.
I don't know if any of these are usable in your version of Flash.
In any event, Flash alpha is configured within Flash itself and/or HTML scripts.
You will need to consult your Flash documentation or the Adobe support forums.

gg, no it cannot be done entirely in Vegas. I have done this before. I usually use After Effects for it. You can use Vegas to key out the background. You would then have to render out an avi or other format that supports uncompressed. You would then need to bring that file into a program that can render out an flv with the alpha channel. Then you would bring that flv into Flash and create the swf for it. Like I said, I use AE because I can key and render to flv. Hope this helps.

That was a pretty cool effect! But IMHO they need to include a volume control.

GraphicGirl - I have done this in experiments using just Sony Vegas and Moyea Flash Video. I don't remember all the steps but is wasn't difficult.

Ignore the old guy in the demo:
