Can I import mpegs of various types?

I have many mpegs I would like to bring into Vegas Video 2h, but it doesnt want to let me. It will let me bring in avi's, but I cannot drop mpegs for some reason. Is there an addon or something I need to get?

if you've registered the MPEG plug in you should be able to import different MPEGs but i've found that some don't work properly. the new MPEG plugin in VV3 might be able to import more varieties of MPEGs.

sometimes MPEGs without audio streams won't work properly, so i've heard. do a search on this forum and you'll find more info about this issue.
