They both can be installed and run at the same time.

Heck, Ken...I've got Vegas 2,3,4, 5 all on the same computer (our Beta machine) and running a Beta besides that... That's one of the really sweet things about Vegas, is how self-contained it stays.

Great to hear it .. thanks much! I always like to have a plan b, eg V4, in case I run into problems using V5. I hope V5 lets you file/save as in a V4-readable .veg format.. like other programs do, like powerpoint etc..

Sometimes Video Capture works better using Vegas 3.0 so I keep all three versions of Vegas on my computer just in case I have a problem. Since all versions of Vegas have had various issues I would keep them all installed in case you wanted to start a project over using a different version unless you are dealing with some of the issues that have never been resolved in ANY version.

Speaking of longstanding, evasive bugs, I have a complicated, 15+ track project going in Vegas 4 right now and so far in a week working on it I haven't seen any phantom frame(s) but I'm knocking on wood.
