Can I sacrifice video quality for quantity (MPEG-2

I'm a new VMS user. Used Pinnacle Studio 8 and 9 for several years. When creating a DVD file, Pinnacle gave me video quality options (Best video quality, Most video on disk, custom, and automatic). This allowed me to squeeze a little more content on the DVD - recognizing that I'm sacrificing video quality when I do.

What's the easiest way to do this in VMS of DVD Architect Studio?

Need to get an answer to this quick or I may have to start over and use Pinnacle on my current project. :(

Thanks in advance.

Documentation suggests that I can create a custom template using the Render As option - but the CUSTOM button is grayed out. ??????????????

Hi rp,
If I understand correctly, you can import your project from VMS to DVDA. In there, when you go to render your final project, you will find the option of 'Fit to Disc'. I use that, and let DVDA use the appropriate setting to give me the best settings and fit my entire project on one disc. Hope it helps. Let us know. Cin

Bit rate will control that. Higher bit rate more quality , larger file, less space available. Lower bit rate less quality, smaller file, more space available.

Read the post MPEG1 or MPEG2 ?? that was put on today.

You will find that the greyed out part is because this functionality is not available in VMS - only in the full version.

THe above article explains how to render your project in VMS and then let DVDA fit it to the disc as Cin points out.

Cheers.
