can i use my firewire connection for i.LINK

laz wrote on 1/14/2011, 3:46 AM
I want to buy a mini dv camcorder (I don't like the HD types). The one I'm interested in is the Sony DCR-HC51E Mini DV Camcorder which has an i.link connector. Is this compatible with my old firewire input?

TIA

Yep. "i.Link" is just Sony's name for the IEEE-1394 interface. Apple calls it "Firewire", and the generic name is IEEE-1394. They are all the same thing:
