Can it be done?

I'm putting together a new NLE system using Vegas Video 3.0. Normally, one edits and does color correction on a computer monitor then views the output on a separate NTSC monitor to check for color correctness. My question is (not being a computer person) couldn't one simply connect the CPU to a NTSC monitor and use it, rather than having to invest in two monitors?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

You'll still want a computer monitor because the resolution of a standard
NTSC monitor will be very poor. If you try to use the NTSC monitor as
the computer monitor too, you won't be able to see any of the fine
detail, like buttons, words, menus, etc. It will all just be a blur. Also
you would probably be restricted to at most 800x600 resolution for your
desktop, and there just wouldn't be enough room for all the workspace
and widgets on the screen.

The nice thing about having a separate NTSC monitor is that you can
put the preview window on it and have your editing workspace less
cluttered.
