Can not burn DVD9

Hello all,

Anytime i try to burn a double layer disc (Verbatim MKM 01RD30), i get an error, whatever the speed. That occurs on all my 4 Nec 7200S burners, and also on another computer with a complete different configuration and another brand burner. However there's no problem to burn data with a software like Nero. How could you explain this ?

By the way, i can't burn the DVD with Nero because it doesn't respect the break layer chosen in DVD-Architect.

Thank you.

Software version : DVD Architect 5.a.

Here is the log :

I have made an ISO image from DVD-Architect that i try now to burn with ImgBurn. There's an option there to specify the break point. It asks a sector value, but DVD architect gives me another value (2067543). How to convert it to the match sector number ?

Thanks.

Well i've just found a software which burns to DVD (so in VOB format) from a DDP image. This is called Gear pro mastering.

So i could burn the DVD with the good break layer. However, playing the DVD freezes (Verbatim DVD-R DL medias). That doesn't occur with burning the same video to a DVD5. Odd !

Have you tried burning the same project using DVDA 5.0b ?
This is a free upgrade for you that solves many issues with different burners.

As a point of reference for you, I have no such issues with DVDA 5.0b using the same media as you on a $25 Optiarc (Sony OEM) burner, which is apparently similar to yours.

If I let the DVDA software automatically create the Break Point, I have no problems in creation or playback whatsoever.

I have not tried 5.0b because the release history only mentions this :

- Fixed a bug that prevented markers from being saved to .m2ts files.
- Fixed a bug that prevented subtitles from being turned off via end actions in Blu-ray Disc projects

Where have you read about issues with burners ?

I'll give it a try though. But the first thing i'll try is to get another media and to re-render the master.

Thanks.

With another DVD9 media, Philips instead of Verbatim, it works now.
