Hi Guys,
after battling Vista 64 and giving up on it and going completely back for good to XP I set up my system completely new.
I installed a fresh XP32Bit and everything is running fine BUT I can't rename my media files in the explorer window of VP8.0. Before I could do this during/after preview and sorting out takes in the explorer window without having any files in the TL but the new setup does not allow me to do it. The error message is something about the file is in use by another program or person?! Hello Bill, I'm the only one on the machine and I have nothing else running which access the files!!!!
Unfortunatly I used a different installation CD for XP which contained SP3 and I wunder if SP3 is handling certain policies differently. Before my XP was setup by an very old SP1 version and a lot of downloading of updates. I never had the full package of SP3, only the important updates but not the fancy crap around it. Is this my problem?
I also suspected the Sony Media Manager which came with Acid Pro but after deinstalling it it's still the same.
Thanks
Axel
