Can Studio handle 44-120Mbit AVCHD video?

So just got the Panasonic GH2 camera.

With the free open source software hacks this a baby can product video at 44Mbit-120Mbit 1080/24p AVCHD video. Amazing quality.

Can Vegas STUDIO handle something like this (assuming a powerful windows PC)?
If not can vegas PRO handle it?

BTW - if anyone is looking for a bargain check out the GH2 - with the software hacks its the best bargain in video cams IMHO.

1080 24p is not a format the program is designed to work with. You might be able to force it to blend frames and do its best with the video -- but I wouldn't recommend doing it. It's liable to end up taking more effort than it's worth.

This really would be a better fit for Vegas Pro.

Steve:

Why do you say the VMS 11 HD is not designed to work with 1080P 24fps? You can set that as the default for a project and there are templates for it, that would appear to mean that it is a supported format.

You are absolutely right! My mistake. I guess I was thinking of 60p.

Sorry. That's what I get for working from memory rather than waiting until I got home and could actually check the program.

Maximum spec for AVCHD is 28Mbps.
So if there are "hacks" that allow more than that, it is not AVCHD.

Steve - nothing to be sorry about, my post was just a question, I didn't really know.
