I have found (a couple of times that after I upgrade my XP software to service pack 1, Vegas can no longer communicate with my cameras. I have both Canon GL1 and Panasonic PV DV900's. and neither of them work.
Both cameras are recognized by the OS, but it is when I go to Capture Mode in Vegas 4 that I get the message "Device DV Camera" could not be opened. Make sure that it is turned on and is not being used by another program or user".
I don't have any other programs using the camera(s). Last time this happened it took me quite a while to reload my system. (I basically had to start with a fresh install of everything, and I am not in the mood to do that again). I can't find anything about this problem on the web, but thought some of you may have some suggestions.
