Can't add video to timeline Movie Studio Platinum 12

I have Movie Studio Platinum 12 and I have used it many times and it worked fine, however I am now using a 4k camera and trying to edit. I tried to import the video and it goes to the folder, but when I try to drag it to the timeline it only adds the audio and not the video. I read somewhere online that I needed Quicktime and got it and it does nothing. I don't know if it is because it's a 4k video or not. But, if anyone knows how to add this video to the timeline so I can edit please let me know.

MSP12 is a few years old now and technology moves on. Possibly it doesn't have the codecs to handle your modern 4K. Download a 30 day trial of VMS17Plat to see if that will import your files.
