can't burn blue ray disk

I have prepared an iso blue ray file. I can burn this to a Phillpips BD-RE blue ray disk with no difficulty and it plays fine on my Blu Ray Player. However, I'm having an issue with some BD-R media. I try to burn, and a second later DVDA says the burn was sucessfull but there is of course nothing on the disk. Is there a way to tell whether this media is incompatible with my system or if I have an issue with DVDA. Thanks

You could try burning the ISO with different software, such as Nero or the free ImgBurn.

Yes, some brands of media are better than others, and work better with particular burners and players. Find what works for you and stick with it.

I find Taiyo Yuden (now JVC), and Verbatim to be good, Ritek to be bad, and Sony and CMC to be so-so. Note that the printed label on the package may not say which company actually made the discs. I have had a package branded Verbatim that was made by CMC, for instance. Certain software can show this, however.

It is also possible that a manufacturer like CMC may have more than one manufacturing process or they may grade their products after manufacure and sell the poorer products at a cheaper price to resellers. This is just conjecture, however, to explain why some resellers of the same manufacturer seem better than others.

EDIT

I just realized that you were talking about Blu-ray. My comments were for DVD. I have only used Verbatim Blu-ray discs and have had no problems so far. However, I prefer to put the .iso files on a USB drive and play them from my media player rather than use optical discs, so I don't have a lot of experience with Blu-ray media.
