I would guess that your drive does not support a valid MMC command that is being sent from CDA5.

Have you emailed this to tech support at SF ?

Hey I get a message like that all the time, and guess how I avoid it ---

write the data at the lowest speed and it will work fine -- just try it -- I bet it will work

(1) do not render temp image
(2) just burn directly
(3) leave the check the disc capabilities on

let me know how it goes

So those drives understand instructions if you speak slowly ?!!!

I assume you've sent this error report to SF ? They will tell you exactly what it means.

I don't get it. I sent an email to SF, but have yet to receive a reply. Maybe someone out here know's what's up with that.

I had been using a 40x plextor CD-RW for months, and just swapped that for the DVR-105, which doesn't seem to want to burn these cds.

I updated the firmware to the latest version, and was able to burn a disc, once, at 1x... but now i am back to the same error. Simply put, i am not burning these discs at 1x, even if they WILL burn at 1x.

so... i rebooted, opened CDA5, hit burn... and it hopped right on. I guess i just needed to reboot after the firmware update for the system to upgrade. I need to reboot again to finalise the process, but i think it's the way to go.

check the firmware, check the drivers, reboot.

good luck
