Can't Burn DVD. (Module sfmmcx.cpp line 1158)

Hello all,

I tried to burn a DVD using Make DVD option from DVD Architect 1.0.
Then Selected Prepare DVD. That copied all required files to a directory (VIDEO_TS)
Then I selected Burn.

I pointed to the right directory and then clicked Next.

I saw the Burning progress bar for Burning Lead-in fill up to 100%
then waiting for the rest to performed. To my surprise the operation stopped and I got the following message:
"The command completed without errors."
And the details gave me this:

'SFMMCX' -(17)
'USB/1394 Devices' -(2)
'DVD+RW RW5120 1.34' -(0)
Module sfmmcx.cpp line 1158
The command completed successfully
No sense.

Status: 000000
Command:
.... everything is 0.
(sense, info specific, Extra)

Is that a firmware problem? Is the external drive that I'm using not compatible?
Have you ever seen something like that?

Thanks for your help.

Fab

I wasn't sure about this, I had similar problem, but I gave up and use my DVD writer software to create DVD from the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS.
and it works just fine.

Sorry for not having any answer, but instead the alternative.

I encountered a similar (but not identical) problem with DVDA 1.0 and a Pioneer A05 drive.

What fixed it for me was upgrading to 1.0c of DVDA and getting the latest revision of my DVD burner's firmware. I suspect what really did the trick was the DVDA upgrade.

Good luck!

Cool thanks for reassuring me on this matter... So if I just burn the content of the directories (Audio and Video) on the DVD then it will work fine? I'll just have to test this but I could save one test Blank DVD :)

Thanks for the help!

Wouldn't you be better off using DVD-RWs for test discs? They work fine in most DVD players...
