Can't capture from handycam

I have a sony handycam SR32 (brand new) and have just bought vegas platinum movie studio. I also have a pretty new PC.
So, all should be well except I can't capture any video from the handycam. Can anyone help?
when i try to capture video it brings up my logitech webcam but doesn't allow me to change theinput to the handycam

I believe that this is an AVCHD camera and not a DV one. You need to mount the camera on the Windows Explorer and copy the files over, it's not a matter of "capturing" if I understand the model correctly. If I am right, then you also need to upgrade to the latest version of Movie Studio which deals with AVCHD better too.
