Can't Delete Looped Region STILL!

Here's what I want to do: I have too much emtpy space on the timeline before any events or so. I Select a Looped Region but nothing happens when I Delete or a track gets deleted - I've been trying everything I can see or think of and it just isn't working!
Suddenly it works and then suddenly it doesn't. There's a blue line with a arrow head on it - is this SPOT's idea of a joke or is it there for some reason?

Make sure you select ALL tracks and you have ripple turned on.

Right, you select the LOOPED area and then select all Tracks so you delete the same space on all of the tracks.

1) Double click on a track in the space you want to delete (ie NOT on an event but in the track lane itself). A loop region will automatically be created the length of the gap.
2) Press Ctrl+A to selected everything.
3) Hit the delete key
